UF HEALTH DEPARTMENT OF UROLOGY

Distribution has begun for the Best Hospitals and Children's Hospital reputation surveys for Doximity users who meet  U. S.  News and World Report eligibility criteria.

UF Health Urology places a high value on this recognition, which informs patients, our community and physician partnerships of the commitment and excellence provided in urologic care by our team of physicians and providers. In keeping with UF Health’s overarching missions, we remain committed to our primary focus of providing outstanding patient-centered care, conducting innovative research, and training tomorrow’s leaders.

Casting a vote in support of UF Health Urology is our chance to let others throughout the nation know of our comprehensive clinical services, unique educational initiatives and innovative research that we provide to patients throughout the state of Florida and the Southeast. The U.S. News & World Report rankings influence the decisions of consumers and physicians, which is why they continue to be very important to us. UF Health Urology has much to be proud of. Listed below are a few of our accomplishments this past year.

• UF Urology Ranks #1 with lowest mortality in Vizient Health Care Network Database

• Benjamin Canales, MD, the 2017 recipient of the Cook Medical Arthur Smith Award

• Benjamin Canales, MD, the 2017 recipient of the Gold Cystoscope Award

• Paul Crispen, MD receives UF Health Exemplary Teacher Award

• Larry Yeung, MD receives UF Health Exemplary Teacher Award

• Vincent Bird, MD and Li-Ming Su, MD recognized for endowed professorships

• Li-Ming Su, MD appointed to the Shands Teaching Hospital and Clinics Board of Directors

For Doximity non-members, physicians surveys began in January and will end in March. For each of the 16 Best (adult) Hospitals and 10 Best Children’s Hospitals specialties that U.S. News ranks each year, RTI (the survey vendor) will mail a hard copy survey to a sample of eligible Doximity non-members. Responses from Doximity non-members who return the survey are weighted much more (in some case, 100 times more) than responses from Doximity members, so if you are inclined to participate in the survey, please be on the lookout for it.

For Doximity members, physicians will be surveyed in late February and March. Doximity will e-mail invitations to participate in the survey. Look for an e-mail from support@doximity.com, with a subject line along the lines of “Request: Nominations in Urology for U.S. News Best Hospitals”. (The specialty name will change based on the specialty in which the physician is eligible.) During the survey period, survey-eligible members will see a notification on the home page when they log on to the Doximity website or app.

If you feel UF Health Shands Hospital and UF Health Urology is one of the nation’s top hospitals for providing care to adult and/or pediatric urology patients who have challenging urologic conditions, please cast your vote online.

Sincerely,
